I had both of them. The nikon D70 and the EOS 350 D. Nikon has a 1.8 inch LCD and trust me it’s better than the canon 350 D . Shutter sound is way better than the 350 D. Time to power on virtually instant on D70, the plastic used is has a touch of quality over canon , AF asist beam spears you of buying a AF beam flash of blinding every one with those several flashes from canon AF(internal flash). The status display is on the upper side for a more professional look but i have to admit …

In My Opinion Theres no comparison, i own a canon 400d, and id take a d80 any day, a d80 is almost semi-pro, and the 400d is budget, but hopefully ill be getting a new dslr in awhile

canon status …
canon status display on the back is more useful for quick review of the aperture or shutter speed. Also you did a comparison with the 350 d , but D70 is intended to be the competitor of EOS 300D , the 6.3 mega-pixel camera from canon.
